Position Overview:

The Manager of Cardiovascular Services is accountable for upholding the highest standards of patient care, ensuring a patient-centric approach, and facilitating optimal patient access in the operational management of cardiovascular services. This role encompasses financial stewardship, resource management, ongoing process enhancement, quality assurance, and collaboration with both clinical and administrative leadership, as well as cross-departmental teams. The manager may oversee multiple departments across various locations.

Qualifications:

Education: A Master's degree is required.
Licensure/Certification: None required.
Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a leadership role that demonstrates the competencies necessary for fulfilling the essential responsibilities of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:
• Directly accountable for the formulation and execution of an annual budget of up to $20 million, managing a workforce of over 75 full-time equivalents (FTEs).
• Collaborates with physician and administrative leaders to establish both short-term and long-term strategic objectives focused on patient care, operational efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance with regulations.
• Works in partnership with other leadership teams on interdepartmental services and initiatives.
• Aids in the implementation and maintenance of systems that ensure consistent quality of care, a patient-first approach, and sufficient patient access.
• Monitors productivity metrics and adjusts resources accordingly to meet established targets.
• Oversees patient care processes, reallocating resources as necessary.
• Determines requirements for space, equipment, supplies, and support systems to optimize departmental effectiveness.
• Addresses patient and visitor concerns, implementing appropriate actions in line with established policies.
• Ensures compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards across units and departments.
• Regularly reviews and updates departmental policies and procedures to align with licensing agency requirements.
• Adapts to changing and uncertain environments effectively.

Leadership and Communication:
• Provides guidance and support to team members to ensure successful completion of their responsibilities.
• Inspires staff by leveraging individual strengths and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Develops cohesive teams and encourages innovation by valuing creative input.
• Continuously assesses staff performance to ensure alignment with essential competencies.
• Ensures that adequate staff and resources are available to meet departmental needs.
• Communicates relevant information promptly to administration and team members.

Financial Oversight:
• Monitors budget performance and addresses any negative variances.
Performance Improvement:
• Maintains applicable quality control programs and actively engages in performance improvement initiatives as directed by leadership.

Strategic Development:
• Collaborates with physician leaders to identify new service opportunities and presents proposals for implementation to the administrative team.
• Manages various human resources functions, including recruitment, work assignments, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with organizational policies and standards.
