Environmental Analyst I, Energy Transition Team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the environmental liaison for new asset initiatives under development. Engage in site evaluations and provide insights to the project team regarding site limitations that may affect project feasibility.
  • Oversee the identification and onboarding of permit requirements for new asset initiatives, ensuring that necessary resources are mobilized to secure permits in alignment with project timelines.
  • Drive the achievement of project objectives and enhance the company's standing through effective planning, organization, communication, and scheduling of environmental tasks to support project goals.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and enhancement of job-related technical expertise to meet departmental expectations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulatory compliance standards, scientific methodologies, quality assurance practices, and auditing principles. Possesses technical knowledge in air, water, or waste management disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Pursuing certifications as an environmental professional (QEP, CHMM, PMP, etc.) or professional registration (PE).
  • Experience in facilitating environmental permitting for projects.
  • Experience in ensuring environmental compliance across multiple facilities and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of systems and processes that adhere to environmental laws, permit stipulations, corporate policies, and sustainability targets.
  • Some experience in negotiations with regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and successfully meet deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Capacity for rapid learning, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven adaptability to changing work demands and priorities.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities, sound judgment, and priority setting.

Location:

Primary location is Charlotte, NC, with additional regional headquarters available.
