Position Overview:
The University of Virginia's Orthopedic Surgery department is in search of a qualified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to oversee the operations of our newly established Ortho Express clinic. This facility is designed to cater to both adult and pediatric patients experiencing acute orthopedic injuries.
Role Responsibilities:
The selected APP will have significant autonomy in managing the clinic, supported by a collaborative team of orthopedic specialists, including attendings and fellows. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing immediate outpatient care for a diverse range of orthopedic conditions.
- Conducting thorough histories and physical examinations, and documenting findings accurately.
- Ordering necessary diagnostic tests and formulating comprehensive treatment plans.
- Prescribing medications and performing essential orthopedic procedures such as laceration repairs and fracture reductions.
- Utilizing fluoroscopy and interpreting orthopedic radiographs.
- Ensuring timely follow-up care for patients.
- Communicating effectively with patients and interdisciplinary team members.
- Engaging in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Additional Information:
This position offers no on-call responsibilities or additional daytime shifts at present, with considerable potential for the clinic's growth anticipated in the future.
Clinical Duties:
The APP will provide comprehensive clinical leadership, ensuring high-quality patient care through:
- Collaboration with physicians and team members.
- Development and evaluation of treatment protocols.
- Advocacy for patient needs and education regarding treatment options.
Professional Development:
The role requires maintaining licensure and certifications, with opportunities for educational growth through workshops and seminars.
Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is between $89,000 and $143,228.80.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Master's Degree as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) and have a minimum of one to two years of relevant experience.
