Role: Staff Accountant

Hiring Type: Contract-Hire

Pay: 32 hours

Salary: $63,000 + amazing benefits

Location: Washington D.C

Office Schedule: Starting out in office 5 days after 6 months, 3 days a week

Hours: 35 hour work week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Addison Group. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for recording and reconciling activity within the general ledger, ensuring this activity is in line with the operational units' systems and records, and producing financial reports and schedules to support key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • General Ledger: Record and reconcile transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, including revenue recognition and account reconciliations.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Provide excellent communication and customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in general ledger and journal entries.
  • Skills: Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
