In periods of both anticipated and unexpected transitions within an organization, executive leadership relies on dependable figures who excel in fluid environments. Riveron offers Interim Executive assistance, functioning as an extension of our clients' operations, delivering guidance during phases of rapid expansion, distress, integration, and separation. As an Interim Executive (CFO, CAO, or Controller), you will navigate the complexities of executive leadership, boards of directors, and external stakeholders to facilitate transparent, informed decision-making and provide expert, financially-driven insights to enhance operational performance.

Who You Are:
  • Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 12 years of combined experience in professional services and industry accounting and/or financial management roles, demonstrating success in aiding organizations to adapt and thrive amidst significant changes (rapid growth, acquisitions, divestitures, mergers).
  • Exhibit a comprehensive skill set with an understanding of best practices in accounting and finance operations, including budgeting and forecasting, month-end closing, audit support, cash flow forecasting, and management/sponsor/lender reporting.
  • Possess a solid grasp of essential business processes related to order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report, with the ability to leverage systems and technology for process enhancement.
  • Have insight into critical accounting challenges commonly encountered by companies experiencing growth through acquisition, including revenue recognition, business combination accounting, equity compensation, leases, and debt.
  • Bring prior experience as a CFO, CAO, or Controller within a private equity-owned enterprise with revenues ranging from $50M to $800M.
  • Preferably have experience as a CFO, CAO, or Controller in the Industrial, Manufacturing, Retail, Software, or Healthcare sectors.
  • Have a background in collaborating with auditors, particularly regarding PBC requests, preparation of financial statements, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering long-term client relationships and possess skills in leading and developing teams and individuals.
  • Thrive in a constantly evolving, dynamic work setting, readily identifying challenges and instinctively seeking solutions.
  • Believe that surpassing client expectations and enjoying the workplace are interdependent.
  • Engage in internal and external company initiatives such as community service, training, recruiting, committees, conference panels, and firm events.
What You'll Do:
  • Deliver interim support to our clients as either:
  • Interim CFO, overseeing the accounting and finance functions, redesigning systems and processes, providing budgets and forecasts, and offering strategic recommendations for performance enhancement, or
  • Interim CAO/Controller, planning and directing all accounting operations while spearheading process improvement initiatives within this function.
  • Collaborate directly with private equity sponsors, client management, and Riveron leadership as a primary partner to navigate complex business, accounting, and financial challenges associated with significant business transformations.
  • Lead client teams in daily functions of the role, including establishing priorities, troubleshooting issues, coaching/developing team members, and actively engaging to understand challenges and enhance processes until the full-time position is filled and trained.
  • Partner with clients to ensure successful audits, timely and accurate financial closures, internal and external financial and business reporting, process improvement initiatives, integration activities, and other critical business objectives as directed by management.
  • Plan and oversee income and sales tax planning and compliance, coordinating with third-party providers.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Riveron's diverse service offerings to identify business improvement opportunities within the client and collaborate with the broader Riveron team to promote and deliver additional services.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with clients and prospects to secure new business and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Encourage a working culture that nurtures the development of team members into future leaders.

The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $140,000 to $320,000 annually (exclusive of bonus, equity, or benefits for which this role may qualify). This range considers various factors influencing individual compensation decisions, including experience, training, skill sets, licensure and certifications, location, and other business and organizational needs, as well as applicable laws.
