Summer Research Fellowship Opportunity

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) offers a unique summer research fellowship opportunity for undergraduate students. This program provides a chance to work with internationally known NIST scientists, exposing students to cutting-edge research and promoting the pursuit of advanced degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university in the U.S. or U.S. territories
  • Strongly preferred to be an undergraduate majoring in a STEM discipline
  • Good academic standing (3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale preferred)

Application Process:

Applicants must submit all materials by the closing date of the announcement. Selected candidates will be required to complete a background investigation suitability check.

NIST seeks students from a broad range of STEM disciplines, including but not limited to biochemistry, biology, biophysics, chemistry, computer science, engineering, materials science, mathematics, nanoscale science, neutron research, physics, and statistics.
