Job Summary:

As an Activities Director at Buckner Retirement Services, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents, promoting their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular surveys and interviews with residents to determine their past and present interests, talents, and satisfaction with community programs and activities.
• Develop and implement activities that meet or exceed Buckner's quality, service, and hospitality standards, recognizing the individuality, diversity, and spirituality of all residents.
• Provide individualized attention to each resident, encouraging their ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
• Assist in developing and coordinating activities and programs for residents, including games, reading, listening, and organizing community involvement.
• Attend to the individual needs of residents, providing assistance with communication, technology-based requests, and identifying residents' reactions to various activities.

Requirements:

• Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a High School Diploma (or G.E.D.).
• Prior related experience in wellness, fitness, or recreational therapy in senior living preferred.
• Sales and marketing experience preferred.
• Requires proficient working knowledge of the aging process as it relates to senior adults in an independent living setting.
• Requires knowledge of residents' rights and ability to ensure an atmosphere that allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
• Requires ability to organize activities and work with other departments and/or units to implement the activities.
• Requires ability to encourage teamwork with residents and/or staff members.
• Requires ability to effectively communicate with residents, staff members, family members, visitors, and the public utilizing excellent customer service skills.
• Requires proficient ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Requires ability to work independently with moderate supervision; ability to adapt to changing conditions and frequent demands; ability to acquire new knowledge.
