Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to oversee all aspects of production at our Norfolk facility. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Oversight: Supervise and coordinate all production activities during the night shift, including milk processing, packaging, and sanitation procedures.
  • Production Scheduling: Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing levels and workflow as needed to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Staff Development: Train and develop production staff to ensure proficiency in operating equipment and following standard operating procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as quality assurance and maintenance, to address any issues or concerns that may arise during production.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate production records and reports to track productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics.
  • Process Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management and control to ensure adequate supplies are available for production.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with management and other team members to provide updates on production status, issues, and potential solutions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of dairy processing techniques, equipment, and sanitation practices. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage team members. Proven ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in food manufacturing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
  • Work Schedule: Willingness to work night shifts and weekends as needed.
