Job Summary:

At IGS Energy Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient construction and continued operation of our Biogas facilities. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your electrical skills and work with a small, high-performance team that specializes in building and operating Biogas facilities in Ohio and Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor control system problems, including control wiring and electrical control devices.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of existing PLC and HMI programs and collaborate with team members to solve technical challenges.
  • Communicate, request, and apply Lock-Out-Tag-Out to equipment for repair and maintenance.
  • Assist in developing solutions related to construction and operation challenges on site.
  • Be willing to learn new skills and abilities, methods, and techniques to support the overall operation of Biogas facilities.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks in support of IGS Energy Inc business as needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting heavy items. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties, such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, gas monitors, etc.

Work Schedule:

This position offers a regular scheduled Monday to Friday work week with an 8-hour day shift. However, extended working hours, varied shifts, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on schedules, workload, and plant conditions. On-call status will periodically be required.

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as electronics, electrical engineering technology, or related experience. In lieu of an associate's degree, 5+ years of experience in electrical equipment maintenance on compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation.
  • 2+ years of experience in the electrical trades with a focus on low voltage instrumentation, SCADA systems, PLCs, and HMIs. PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of 24VDC - 480VAC systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools required to perform the job, such as volt-ohm meters, ammeters, etc.
  • Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Salary Range:

$64,000 - $103,540.00 (base pay only). This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
