Medical Coding Specialist

Kaiser Permanente seeks a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team in Maui. As a key member of our coding staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and compliant clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and verify medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness of diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results.
* Conduct audits to validate that documentation supports services rendered for reimbursement and reporting purposes.
* Assign codes for reimbursements, research, and compliance with regulatory requirements, following established guidelines and conventions.
* Identify discrepancies, potential quality of care issues, and billing errors, and develop recommendations to correct them.
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of ICD and CPT coding systems and regulations.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
