About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.
  • Assisting the Surgical Team: Assist surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Anticipating Needs: Anticipate the needs of surgeons and nurses during surgeries and provide assistance accordingly.
  • Maintaining a Sterile Field: Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures to minimize the risk of infection.
  • Handling Specimens: Handle and dispose of surgical specimens in accordance with established protocols.
  • Patient Positioning: Assist with patient positioning and ensure their comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Post-Operative Cleaning: Clean and restock operating rooms after surgeries, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and stored.
  • Adhering to Protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology. Proficiency in sterilization techniques and operating room protocols.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Patient Safety and Confidentiality: Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
