About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team at voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak LLC. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for partnering with plant management leadership to support business objectives through effective people management and human resources programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for plant safety initiatives, promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with plant management team to develop job skill matrices, maintain skills inventories, and implement training programs for employee development.
  • Manage recruitment process to meet business requirements, ensure accurate time keeping and payroll processing, and maintain accurate and timely maintenance of employee data in HRIS system.
  • Effectively manage health and compensation claims, identify opportunities to reduce risk exposure, and gather intelligence on local job market conditions to develop recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Counsel and mentor employees, act as a role model and lead our Nortrak Blue culture and values, and demonstrate strong leadership skills to partner with plant leadership team.
Requirements
  • Four years' college degree or equivalent in a related discipline is preferred, with HR Certification a plus.
  • Five to ten years' experience in a generalist HR position, with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Three to five years' experience at a managerial level, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work effectively with employees and managers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage difficult situations with employees, and sound knowledge of MS Office standard programs and MS special programs.
