We are seeking a seasoned, dynamic, and empathetic Chief Operations Officer for our esteemed retirement community, Cogir at the Quarry.

The Chief Operations Officer will oversee all aspects of community management and care quality. Key responsibilities encompass ensuring the financial health of the community, managing budgets and cash flow, adhering to staffing protocols, and overseeing daily operations in compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in fostering an environment that upholds the highest standards of care while nurturing positive relationships with staff, department heads, residents, service providers, and families. The COO will ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, alongside company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary executive for all operational activities, acting as the liaison for staff, residents, prospective clients, community organizations, regulatory bodies, and the public.
  • Lead, inspire, and oversee all department heads, ensuring effective training and high morale.
  • Ensure resident satisfaction through the consistent delivery of superior services.
  • Direct the development and execution of sales and operational strategies that align with the organization's goals.
  • Stay informed on community care regulations and support the Resident Care Program by collaborating with clinical leadership to address concerns.
  • Implement proactive strategies for resident retention and renewal.
  • Manage financial operations, ensuring budget adherence and proactively addressing any potential variances.
  • Provide leadership and problem-solving support for both staff and residents.
  • Act as the main contact for corporate leadership, fostering positive relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all departmental policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
  • Oversee hiring, promotions, and employee relations with a focus on retaining high-quality staff.
  • Maintain the property and grounds through effective maintenance oversight and regular inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Team-oriented mindset with a passion for serving the senior community.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, nursing, or human services is preferred, or equivalent experience in a supervisory capacity within senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a progressive leadership role within senior living operations is essential.
  • Must hold a valid Administrator's license (if required by state regulations) and meet all applicable licensing requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local regulations regarding resident rights.
  • Proven track record of team building and achieving financial objectives.
  • Familiarity with various software systems, CRM tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and time management skills.
  • Outstanding communication abilities and motivational skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and be available on-call as needed.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Genuine compassion for residents and a commitment to excellence.
