Senior BI/ETL Platform Architect

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled professional with extensive knowledge in platform architecture and operational support, particularly within Business Intelligence (BI) and ETL environments. This pivotal role will concentrate on the enhancement, maintenance, and development of our business intelligence architecture, ensuring robust support and continuous improvement. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with external teams and stakeholders to oversee daily platform operations. Additionally, this role requires proactive engagement with the quality and compliance teams to implement architectural modifications, alongside meticulous documentation for architecture, test cases, integration agreements, and quality assurance materials necessary for compliance audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic design, maintenance, and enhancement of our business intelligence architecture, focusing on optimizing BI platforms for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Drive the creation and execution of cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and resilience tailored to our BI platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ascertain business requirements and guarantee that platform infrastructure adheres to organizational security and compliance standards.
- Utilize expertise in cloud cost management to optimize resource usage and maintain cost-effectiveness within the cloud ecosystem.
- Oversee the onboarding of new projects onto the platforms.
- Facilitate and support proof of concepts for emerging tools and technologies.
- Act as the product owner for BI and ETL platforms.
- Adhere to organizational processes, including Scrum, Kanban, incident management, and quality documentation protocols.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in platform architecture, development, and support, with a strong focus on Business Intelligence (BI) and ETL platforms.
- Proven track record in leading and advancing business intelligence platforms, emphasizing BI ecosystems, data warehousing, and analytics.
- Fundamental knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, with practical experience in architecting and maintaining cloud solutions for BI.
- Expertise in server maintenance, SaaS, and data governance, with a solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly in BI contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cloud costs and billing effectively to ensure resource optimization.
- Familiarity with at least two BI platforms (preferably Qlik, PowerBI, or Tableau) and one ETL platform (preferably Informatica or IICS).
- Experience in migrating cloud solutions from on-premises BI systems (Qlik or Tableau).
- Hands-on experience with PowerBI is advantageous.
- Strong collaboration skills with team members.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with version management tools, incident management systems, SSO, VPC, and firewall configurations.
- Understanding of API functionalities.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
