This pivotal position is dedicated to the enhancement, upkeep, and evolution of our business intelligence architecture, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The selected individual will collaborate closely with external partners and stakeholders to oversee daily operational tasks related to the platform. Additionally, this role requires proactive engagement with the quality and compliance teams to facilitate necessary architectural modifications, alongside meticulous documentation for architecture, testing protocols, integration agreements, quality assurance documents, and all essential materials for compliance and quality standards, including the creation of all required support documentation for audits. The position will report to the Lead Platform Architect and will coordinate with the designated BI/ETL platform technical account manager, project leads, application leads, or solution technical leads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the strategic architecture, maintenance, and enhancement of our business intelligence platform, focusing on the optimization of BI systems for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Lead the design and deployment of cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and resilience tailored to BI platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ascertain business requirements and guarantee that platform infrastructure and resources adhere to organizational security and compliance standards.
  • Utilize expertise in cloud cost management to optimize resource usage and ensure cost-effectiveness within the cloud environment.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new projects onto the platforms.
  • Facilitate and support proof of concepts for emerging tools and technologies.
  • Act as a product owner for BI and ETL platforms.
  • Adhere to organizational standard processes, including Scrum, Kanban, incident management, and quality documentation.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in platform architecture, development, and support, with a focus on Business Intelligence (BI) and ETL systems.
  • A proven history of leading and advancing business intelligence platforms, emphasizing BI ecosystems, data warehousing, and analytics.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, with practical experience in architecting and maintaining cloud-based solutions for BI systems.
  • Expertise in server maintenance, SaaS applications, and data governance, with a strong command of SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly in relation to BI platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand cloud cost and billing for optimizing usage and maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Familiarity with at least two business intelligence platforms (preferably Qlik, PowerBI, or Tableau) and one ETL platform (preferably Informatica or IICS).
  • Experience in migrating cloud solutions from on-premises BI systems (Qlik or Tableau).
  • Hands-on experience with PowerBI is an advantage.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with team members.
  • Understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with version control tools, incident management systems, SSO, VPC, and firewall configurations.
  • Knowledge of API functionality.
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts.
