Technical Network Specialist

We are a Managed Service Provider serving clients in the Boston metropolitan area. Our mission is to deliver exceptional IT services to a wide range of businesses, with networks primarily based on the Microsoft Windows platform. We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Network Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be diligent, resourceful, and highly skilled, with expertise spanning desktop support to server and network installation, administration, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain managed wired and Wi-Fi networks, including hardware, system software, and applications.
  • Design, configure, maintain, and document network infrastructure.
  • Provide Tier 2-3 technical support to clients, both onsite and remotely.
  • Assist with remote service desk support.
  • Resolve and/or escalate technical issues promptly through a ticketing system.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and project managers to meet client needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory (2016, 2019, and 2022), including forests, domain controllers, OUs, GPOs, ACLs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Hyper-V and virtualized environments.
  • Expertise in network and internet-related concepts such as DNS, HTTP, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 Cloud Computing Services.
  • Ability to configure and support network routers, firewalls, and Layer 2 switches, including inbound/outbound rules, routing, IPsec VPN tunnels, and VLANs.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000+, commensurate with experience.
