Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at IASIS Healthcare. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting the lives and property of all individuals on hospital premises, as well as patrolling hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect life and property of all individuals on hospital premises.
  • Deescalate potentially tense situations and immediately contact local authorities as necessary.
  • Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism, and report any suspicious activity or accidents/incidents.
  • Secure, lock, and protect hospital buildings and grounds.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Assist hospital staff in de-escalating tense situations and respond immediately to support the safety of staff.
  • Ensure only authorized individuals are admitted onto hospital property and assist with inquiries made by patients, visitors, or other employees.
  • Maintain current information in daily activity reports/logs, incident reports, lost and found logs, etc.
  • Serve as a member of the emergency response team and respond to codes appropriately.
  • Report all safety and fire hazards, investigate incidents of unusual circumstances, and report all incidents to supervisor.
  • Support all fire/life safety/emergency management drills and education initiatives.
  • Document incident reports in an accurate and timely manner and follow appropriate investigative procedures.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to all areas of the hospital.
  • Successfully complete hospital and department-specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Two to five (2-5) years of experience in the field of law enforcement, security operations, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • A current Basic Life Support (CPR) American Red Cross or American Heart Association Provider certification or a CPI certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully clear a background check, including a criminal search.
  • Use or possession of a firearm and/or other weapons is prohibited.
