We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Bryan Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, including PET/CT and Spect/CT, under the supervision of a qualified physician.
- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection, ingestion, and inhalation, and apply EKG patches and cables as needed.
- Use sterile technique to ensure patient safety and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Optimize patient anatomy and function through proper positioning, isotope selection, and technical factor selection.
- Perform venipuncture and adhere to all state and federal regulatory requirements for radiation control and safety procedures.
- Assist radiologists in the therapeutic use of radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions.
- Competently operate all nuclear medicine equipment, EPIC, and PACS, and perform and evaluate images for technical quality.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care and procedures in accordance with established nuclear medicine standards and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of isotopes used and complete quality control on scanning equipment.
- Review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
- Properly care for and image patients of all ages, maintaining patient confidentiality and providing excellent customer service.
- Coordinate exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Participate in the department's quality improvement plan and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
- Current certification or registration by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
