Position Overview


The Renewable Energy Engineer plays a crucial role in the technical aspects of planning, designing, procuring, and constructing enhancements, modifications, or maintenance for Berkshire Hathaway Energy's renewable energy facilities.

This role may involve overseeing the work of wind engineers, contractors, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities


Deliver engineering expertise for the planning, design, and construction of project enhancements or maintenance for Berkshire Hathaway Energy's renewable energy facilities.

Responsibilities encompass the development and execution of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specific reliability assessments, forecasting metrics, performance evaluations, and accuracy validation. (55%)

Manage technical projects through various phases, including scheduling, design, cost estimation, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking, and project budget forecasting.

(15%)

Compile and present both oral and written reports. (15%)

Provide engineering support to other departments as needed. (10%)

Participate in training programs in designated areas. (5%)

Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned. (0-5%)

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution is required.

For the Engineer II role, a minimum of three years of industry experience as a practicing engineer is necessary.


For the Senior Engineer role, five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer is required, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) license. If the PE license is not held, then eight or more years of experience as a practicing engineer is necessary.



Experience in power generation or renewable energy is preferred.

Possess a high level of technical knowledge, judgment, and capability within the engineering discipline.

Demonstrate broad analytical skills and advanced project management capabilities. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
