About the Role

We are seeking a talented Underwriter I to join our growing Client Delivery Team. As part of a dynamic team, you will bring a positive attitude and energy to our organization. The primary duties are ensuring we are providing excellent service, product knowledge, and presenting the best possible coverage options to our new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply and interpret underwriting guidelines & rating rules in the evaluation and pricing of a commercial insurance risk.
  • Contribute to the profitability of the business through the underwriting of new and renewal applications.
  • Determine appropriate coverages and rates and prepare quote documents.
  • Make logical and precise recommendations to the carrier when required.
  • Provide ongoing service and account maintenance for multiple programs and/or products.
  • Assist with projects as needed.
  • Ensure that all regulatory, compliance and transparency requirements are met and comply with all internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage workload within established service levels and/or production requirements.
Requirements
  • Underwriting background and experience.
  • Demonstrate an entry-level understanding and application of P&C underwriting acumen.
  • Insurance Industry experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must be Property and Casualty Licensed or pass licensing test within 1 year.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
