Clinical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at NeoGenomics Laboratories. As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures and handling various types of specimens submitted to the department for processing.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical laboratory tests proficiently in the department under general supervision, exercising independent judgment in the specialty assigned.
- Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining accurate and complete records of all testing performed on-site.
- Maintain records that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing, prepare clinical specimens for testing, and identify specimen-related problems according to established SOP guidelines.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Review, release test results, and follow department procedures in reporting STATS or Critical results to the interpreting physician per department SOP.
- Perform and document Quality Control on reagents, equipment, and assays. Recognize and act on QC failures by consultation or follow-up with the department Supervisor or Lead technologist regarding courses of action taken to achieve resolution.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
- Prepare stock solutions, reagents, and cocktails used in the laboratory as per established SOPs. Test and evaluate them based on standard criteria and document all observed results.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences with the addition of 1+ years of laboratory experience/training/training course.
- 1+ years equivalent experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
- Nationally: ASCP certification for the assigned specialty, as available.
- FL: current state license to perform laboratory testing = Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- CA: current state license to perform laboratory testing = Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist or Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist.
- TN: current state license to perform laboratory testing = Medical Laboratory Professional.
