Role Overview

As an Assistant Attorney General, your primary responsibilities will include providing legal counsel to boards, participating in meetings, representing boards in various legal contexts, and undertaking additional related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Litigation:
    • Engage in hearings and represent cases in court
    • Conduct legal research and draft necessary documents
    • Interview witnesses and expert consultants
    • Engage in settlement discussions
  • Legal Advisory:
    • Offer legal guidance and representation
    • Conduct thorough legal research
    • Prepare legal opinions and memoranda
    • Participate in meetings and professional development seminars
    • Travel as necessary for case-related duties
    • Perform other relevant responsibilities as assigned

This position requires a Juris Doctor degree and active membership in the Georgia Bar Association.

Preferred qualifications include a background in administrative law, experience in civil litigation, and familiarity with trial procedures.
