Job Summary

The Day Habilitation Specialist is a vital member of our team at MHMR of Tarrant County, responsible for providing a range of services to support individuals with mental health needs. This role involves implementing individualized plans, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment, and promoting community integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and coach individuals to increase their knowledge and experiences in a compassionate and supportive manner.
  • Participate in planning conferences to develop and implement individualized plans.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure high-quality services.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide positive and educational activities daily.
  • Document daily progress notes and information in participant program records.
  • Share community activity ideas with the Activity Coordinator.
  • Implement activity schedules daily and maintain supplies for program activities.
  • Document all training and progress according to unit and agency procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personal information in formal and informal settings.
  • Participate in team meetings and share relevant information with consideration for the audience.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and respectful speech with all coworkers and program participants.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive working atmosphere for all program staff and participants.
  • Support individuals to participate in activities that enhance connections to the community and build self-esteem.
  • Perform other job duties or responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must provide a license (if applicable) and official documentation of all educational attainment.
  • Pre-employment tests, including drug and TB screening, physical exam, and balance and lift test.
  • Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) Protection.
  • Lifting requirements: 55 pounds.
