Job Overview

Estimator - Location: Blacksburg, SC

Our client is seeking a skilled Estimator to contribute to their operations. Relevant experience is essential. The primary office is situated in Blacksburg, SC, but this role will involve supporting field teams, necessitating occasional travel. The Estimator will report directly to the Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Gather project details and specifications from clients to initiate the bidding process.
    • Upload bid documents to the server and incorporate the bid into the Work In Progress (WIP).
    • Conduct site visits to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project scope when feasible.
    • Collaborate with Project Managers and senior estimators to ascertain equipment requirements, labor hours, timelines, etc., to compile the bid.
    • Perform takeoffs of project areas and materials utilizing Carlson AutoCAD software or Agtek.
    • Develop a budget using HCSS HeavyBid.
    • Review the budget with the project team and prepare a formal proposal for client submission.
    • Submit bids to clients and follow up on pending proposals.
    • Upon bid acceptance, review the HeavyBid budget and implement necessary adjustments.
    • Transfer the final HeavyBid job to HCSS HeavyJob for project invoicing and tracking.
    • Update the WIP to reflect the new project and communicate details to the staff.
    • Generate all change orders in Heavy Bid/Heavy Job as required.
