Position Overview:
As an Inpatient Coding and Documentation Auditor I, your key responsibility will involve the auditing of inpatient cases to ensure DRG validation and enhance documentation accuracy. This role requires a thorough examination of accounts utilizing proprietary software alongside client EMR systems to confirm the integrity of the accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed reviews of inpatient medical records to verify DRG assignments.
• Deliver comprehensive rationale and supporting evidence for your recommendations and findings.
• Leverage industry-standard references to substantiate your review conclusions, including the ICD-10 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding, AHIMA Practice Briefs on compliant querying, and AHA Coding Clinics.
• Maintain a daily review of a minimum of 23 charts.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
• Possession of current AHIMA credentials, including one or more of the following: RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in ICD-10 coding and DRG reimbursement, with recent experience in acute inpatient coding.
• Proven ability to work remotely in a quiet and distraction-free environment.
