Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Biosafety and Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at TBWA\Chiat\Day. This role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of environmental health and safety within our operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of environmental health and safety (EHS) principles, enabling them to identify and address potential risks while enhancing client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to biosafety, including guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Utilize expertise in biosafety to establish containment levels for various laboratory and research applications.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of laboratories and workspaces to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Perform workplace safety evaluations, focusing on the use of personal protective equipment and identifying potential hazards.
  • Lead safety training sessions for employees, covering essential topics such as hazard communication and equipment safety.
  • Document findings and prepare reports for regulatory compliance, including accident investigations and safety audits.
  • Collaborate with clients to address safety concerns and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Microbiology, or Environmental Science.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in biosafety, environmental safety, or related fields.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
