Job Summary

The Parent Educator will provide in-home family support and education to families with children who have been denied services from the Arizona Early Intervention Program or have concerns about their child's development. The role involves working with family members and caregivers to ensure all services provided are culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly home visits to families to provide support and education
  • Develop and deliver monthly Group Connections to promote family engagement and community building
  • Connect families to outside resources and referrals to support their goals and needs
  • Maintain a caseload of 15 families and provide coordination and advocacy for services
  • Plan, deliver, and complete data entry within established timeframe policies
Requirements
  • Minimum associate degree in Social Work, Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience working with young children 0-5 years of age and their parents
  • Experience working with families and children who are developmentally delayed
  • Experience with families and children with special needs
  • Knowledge/experience in working with the AzEIP program
  • Knowledge/experience in-home visitation and group education
  • Knowledge/experience in typical and delayed child development
  • Bilingual, and fluent in English/Spanish are required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and some weekends
  • Must be eligible and able to obtain a Level one fingerprint card
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license, and vehicle and meet agency liability insurance requirements
