About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Computational Chemist to join our team at Skills Alliance. As a key member of our early-stage discovery programs, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our cancer therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize small molecules using computational techniques to drive our mission forward.
  • Guide structure-based drug discovery efforts to identify potential therapeutic candidates.
  • Provide critical insights into target-ligand interactions to inform our discovery programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, biologists, and structural biologists, to progress drug discovery programs.
  • Develop and implement computational approaches for hit-to-lead and lead optimization.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in computational chemistry and medicinal chemistry principles.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, or a related field, with a focus on small molecule drug discovery.
  • 3+ years of experience in computational chemistry within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, working with small molecules.
  • Expertise in molecular modeling, structure- and ligand-based drug design, virtual screening, and computational approaches for hit-to-lead and lead optimization.
  • Strong understanding of medicinal chemistry principles, protein-ligand interactions, and drug development pipelines.
  • Proficiency with relevant software tools and platforms, such as Schrödinger, MOE, OpenEye, or similar.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and demonstrated success in progressing drug discovery programs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
