Job Description:
We seek an exceptional scientist capable of tackling the challenges associated with leading-edge discoveries. The successful candidate will integrate into an international and multidisciplinary team of scientists, engage in different research areas, and work cross-functionally with the IO and Virology team to leverage crystallography to solve key molecular structures, produce high-quality proteins, and contribute to the development and advancement of novel therapeutic strategies.
This scientist is the driving force behind our R&D efforts, capable of adapting to any situation and responding swiftly to changing conditions. From urgent research studies to critical experiments, this team member executes efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage crystallography expertise to solve crystal structures of key targets/molecules, including protein crystallography, initial screening, crystal quality optimization, data collection, and structure determination.
- Work collaboratively with IO / Virology teams to produce proteins, including designing the methodology and performing the purification of proteins of therapeutic interest to provide high-quality material for the advancement of drug discovery campaigns.
- Collaborate with biologists, biophysicists, biochemists, structural biologists, and medicinal chemists to develop comprehensive approaches to ensure target viability and address specific project needs.
- Establish protocols to characterize target proteins for small molecule interactions.
Education and Experience:
- Master / PhD degree in Structural Biology / Protein Biochemistry.
- 3-5 years of work experience as a bench scientist in industry (e.g., biotech, pharma).
- Experience in protein purification for different expression systems using multiple techniques.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have direct experience in enzymology and crystallization techniques (co-crystallization, seeding, cross-seeding, soaking, harvesting, and freezing).
- Familiarity with chemistry and protein computational techniques.
- Champion a "can-do" attitude and flexibility to adjust as R&D priorities shift.
