Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join our team at a progressive and financially stable Hospital System in Lake City, Florida.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, developing and implementing individualized plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Carry out physician orders, administering medications, changing dressings, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Provide respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients, ensuring accurate and timely interventions.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines, ensuring well-coordinated patient care and seamless transitions.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Instruct and educate patients and families, promoting health literacy and empowering patients to take an active role in their care.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs, collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Provide age and culturally appropriate care, adapting to the unique needs and preferences of each patient.
  • Orient and mentor new staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Follow Standard Precautions, utilizing personal protective equipment as required to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN required.
  • Current State of Florida license for Registered Nurse or appropriate compact licensure.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.
  • CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification preferred.
  • Acute care experience required.
  • MUST HAVE – 1 year experience or have floated to ICU.
  • Critical Care experience preferred.
