Internship Program Overview

Peco Foods, Inc. is committed to developing the next generation of leaders in the poultry industry. Our internship program provides students with hands-on experience in a vertically integrated poultry company, exposing them to various disciplines and building a network of contacts.

Program Objectives

The main objective of the program is to provide interns with a working knowledge of a poultry company, enabling them to gain a broad understanding of poultry production and related skills.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the internship, applicants must be enrolled full-time the semester prior to the internship and be an upcoming sophomore to senior-level student in good standing, with a demonstrated interest in agricultural, poultry, or animal sciences.

Job Responsibilities

Interns will be assigned to a Peco Foods facility, where they will receive hands-on training in all aspects of live production and processing. This includes pullets, hens, broilers, hatchery, feed mill, live haul, and processing operations. Interns will work closely with supervisors to ensure success and receive ongoing feedback on performance.

Competencies

Selected candidates must possess strong communication, computer, and leadership skills, as well as good analytical skills. Interns will be required to work all assigned shifts and perform physical labor, including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
