Oncology Pharmacy Technician Specialist

At Yale New Haven Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Oncology Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician in our Oncology Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services to our patients.
Responsibilities:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, package, label, and deliver medications to patient care units, including automated dispensing cabinets and medication storage refrigerators.
- Utilize appropriate product packaging and demonstrate proficiency in medication distribution, inventory management, and technical expertise.
- Assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care and maintain a clean, well-stocked work environment.
- Identify and escalate concerns related to medication distribution and inventory management.
- Perform mathematical calculations and drug product manipulation, dilution, or compounding as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree desirable.
- 6-months Pharmacy technician experience or healthcare experience required; hospital experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
- Current registration/licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of employment and active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification are required.
Employee may be expected to work on-call shifts and is considered essential personnel. The employee is required to walk, sit, stand, and crouch, and must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The work environment noise level is moderate.
