Position Overview

The Custodial Technician operates under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Supervisor, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness across all assigned duties. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in various environments, including handling soiled linens, hard surfaces, and carpeted areas, as well as managing bio-hazard waste disposal.

*Important Note: This role is contingent upon contract award. Active responses to applicants will commence only when there is a need to proceed with this position.

The compensation for this role ranges from $17.58 to $20.00 per hour, in addition to $4.57 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular trash removal and sanitation of waste containers.
  • Manage the disposal of soiled linens.
  • Ensure cleanliness of patient care and examination areas according to the established schedule.
  • Maintain cleanliness in office and communal spaces as per daily requirements.
  • Oversee the removal of bio-hazardous materials during each shift.
  • Respond promptly to overhead paging and radio communications.
  • Perform scheduled floor care duties.
  • Execute low and high dusting tasks in designated areas, including vents, lighting fixtures, telephones, desks, ledges, windows, and furniture.
  • Clean exterior entryways and walkways, including signage and plaques.
  • Complete weekly checklists and submit them to the supervisor.
  • Report any broken items or equipment needing repair.
  • Distribute linens as assigned.
  • Handle confidential materials with discretion.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to work schedules and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Follow established safety standards for handling and mixing cleaning chemicals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management or supervisors.
Supervisory Role

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 3 months of relevant experience in housekeeping or sanitation.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance, with the ability to travel to local facilities.
  • Familiarity with janitorial methods, materials, tools, and safety precautions.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions, demonstrating strong customer relations skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass required criminal background checks and pre-employment drug testing.

  • Experience and understanding of Alaska Native cultures.
