Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Physician Assistant to join our team at AdventHealth Central Florida. As a Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and providing exceptional service to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical examinations and medical management of palliative care patients, including new consultations, admissions, follow-up, and discharging of patients per hospital protocol.
  • Provide symptom management for patients, including pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, delirium, anxiety, and depression.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Monitor patients' course of treatment and make appropriate referrals to either a physician or specialist, as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and social workers as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
  • Experience in Palliative care, ICU hospitalist, or oncology required.
  • Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license.
  • ANCC, AANP (or equivalent) or NCCPA Certification.
  • Current BLS and ACLS required.
  • Current, valid DEA license.
