Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Position Overview:

The Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) will work collaboratively under the guidance of supervising physicians, focusing on:

  • Conducting comprehensive physical assessments and managing the medical care of patients in palliative settings, including initial consultations, follow-ups, and discharges according to established protocols.
  • Providing effective symptom management for conditions such as pain, nausea, anxiety, and depression.
  • Ordering and interpreting necessary diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies.
  • Monitoring patient progress and coordinating referrals to specialists as required.
  • Collaborating with physicians and social workers to ensure seamless patient care and support for healthcare staff.
  • Exhibiting a compassionate and professional demeanor while pursuing personal and professional development.

Work Schedule:

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
  • Experience in palliative care, intensive care, or oncology settings.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current and valid Florida APRN or PA license.
  • Certification from ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Valid DEA license.
