We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specializing in Neuro Critical Care to enhance our critical care team. This role is integral to our Neuro Critical Care unit, which is designed to provide exceptional care for critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct clinical services to critically ill adult patients experiencing multi-system failure, adhering to evidence-based clinical practices under physician supervision.
- Conduct thorough patient health assessments and document findings in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Order and interpret necessary diagnostic and laboratory tests, clearly communicating the purpose and expected outcomes to patients and their families.
- Perform essential life-saving procedures including CPR, airway management, and the administration of critical medications.
- Insert and manage central venous and arterial catheters, along with other ICU-related procedures.
- Engage in patient monitoring and educate staff on the use of monitoring equipment.
- Participate in admissions and consultations for the Neuro ICU, collaborating closely with the Neuro-Intensivist.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for acute illnesses in partnership with supervising physicians, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
- Monitor patient status for any changes and initiate emergency interventions as necessary.
- Assist in the pre-, peri-, and postoperative care of patients admitted to the ICU.
Work Schedule:
This position involves night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with the opportunity for additional shifts available.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing (with Acute Care Certification) or in Physician Assistant Studies.
- 1-2 years of experience in a Neuro ICU setting as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior experience as a Registered Nurse in a Neuro ICU is highly preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
- Valid Florida PA or APRN license.
- Certification from NCCPA, ANCC, or another nationally recognized certifying body.
- BLS and ACLS certifications; ENLS certification is preferred.
