Job Summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Technology Risk and Control Group Manager, SVP to join our team. As a key member of our Risk Management function, you will be responsible for managing complex and critical risk areas, leading a team of professionals, and driving business growth through effective risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and oversee the application of operational risk policies, technology, and tools to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Independently assess risks and drive actions to address the root causes of operational risk losses, challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Provide governance and oversight, including technology operational risk, cyber risk, and other areas as needed.
  • Work with In-Business OR and Independent Risk Teams to drive operational risk anticipation, mitigation, and loss recovery.
  • Ensure the implementation of operation risk policy and exception approvals.
  • Inform the Operational Risk Council on sub-segment level OR-related matters.
  • Attend In-Business Risk Committees.
  • Manage and allocate resources for the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommend holistic corrective actions and improvements.
  • Assist in directing teams in the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units.
  • Support, review, and challenge the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards.
  • Allocate resources to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures across Risk Categories, including material, emerging, and concentration risks.
  • Take ownership to identify, assess, record, and respond to operational and compliance risk events.
  • Assess the risks associated with new activities and changes to the business, ensuring they are well understood and adequately controlled.
  • Guide and influence standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technology risk, operations, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in technology risk is a must, with other risk and control disciplines a plus.
  • Strong technical aptitude and relevant experience required.
  • Deep understanding of software delivery processes and practices.
  • Experience in internal audit or financial control desirable.
  • Expertise in fraud awareness and risk management, operations and systems, vendor/outsourcing management, and MCA legal and regulatory compliance management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Education

Bachelor's/University degree required.
