  1. Exhibit effective teaching methods that align with HTA's educational goals and adapt to the guidance provided by the Director of Food and Beverage Training.
  2. Contribute to the creation of educational materials, including curriculum, assessments, and worksheets, aimed at enhancing the overall effectiveness of HTA's programs.
  3. Engage and inspire students, fostering an interactive learning environment that encourages questions and mutual respect among participants.
  4. Deliver organized and coherent lectures while facilitating student-centered discussions.
  5. Ensure that all classes adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  6. Oversee Assistant Culinary Instructors to guarantee high-quality instruction.
  7. Act as a professional representative of HTA within the community, building strong relationships with industry partners to promote student engagement.
  8. Maintain regular communication with industry partners to support student employment opportunities.
  9. Interact positively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  10. Equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become successful, employable individuals upon completion of the culinary program.
  11. Be available to teach all assigned culinary classes as scheduled.
  12. Possess the ability to commute as required for various responsibilities.
  13. Utilize personal transportation for culinary-related tasks.
  14. Demonstrate collaborative skills when working with staff, faculty, students, and industry professionals.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent culinary diploma as determined by HTA.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Chef in a fine dining setting.
  • Must obtain ServSafe Instructor/Proctor certification prior to commencing teaching duties.
  • Flexibility in work hours and days is essential.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while instructing.
  • Capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs, including the ability to perform various physical tasks related to culinary instruction.
  • Proficient in using hands for a range of culinary techniques.

Special Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dynamic speaking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Commitment to advancing HTA's mission and objectives.
