Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Marine Hydraulics International, LLC. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing subcontracts, reviewing requisitions, and ensuring compliance with specifications and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Subcontract Management: Review and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions, and handle post-award administration and closeout with minimal supervision.
  • Procurement Process: Prepare and execute subcontract purchase orders, issue RFPs/RFQs, and evaluate proposals, including cost/price analysis.
  • Contract Compliance: Maintain subcontract files in accordance with procurement procedures and government-approved purchasing system requirements.
  • Subcontractor Management: Follow up and monitor subcontracts to evaluate subcontractor's ability to meet schedules, cost, and technical requirements.
  • Company Compliance: Ensure subcontractors are in compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethics requirements.
  • Communication: Interface with project team and production to discuss contractual issues, provide early identification of risks and potential liabilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Work with managers and subcontractors to assist in resolution of impasses or other difficult related issues and recommend alternative courses of action as appropriate.
  • Financial Management: Assist accounting with solving any processing problems with subcontract invoices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, accounting, or related field.
  • Experience: At least two years of government subcontracting experience, including knowledge of FAR/DFARS. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Skills: Good organizational skills, strong analytical abilities, and quantitative skills. Must be capable of performing detail-oriented work. Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving skills, requiring a high degree of initiative and sound judgment.
  • Communication: Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer Skills: Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
