Student Recruitment Specialist

Job Summary: Chicago State University seeks a highly motivated and experienced Student Recruiter to join our team. This professional role is focused on increasing undergraduate, graduate, and professional student enrollment through coordinated, planned, and data-driven recruitment practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Counseling, Advising and Relationship Building: Counsel and advise prospective students, families, and the general public on university policies, procedures, admissions processes, pre-college planning, and general information such as financial aid, housing, registration, and other student services.
- Foster strong relationships between prospective students, families, and the university.
- Generate personal inquiries through networking and professional relationships.
- Evaluate and advise prospective students using a consultative approach to best determine educational needs and position the university as the school of choice.
- Represent the university at recruitment events to attract prospective health professions students.
Strategic Recruitment and Event Planning: Plan on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, including open houses, information sessions, group and individual tours, workshops, and other activities.
Collaborate with the Office of the Dean, Department Chairpersons, and the University Office of Admissions to analyze historical enrollment data and make informed decisions regarding travel to target markets.
Marketing and Recruitment Materials: Assist in the production and distribution of recruitment materials, including brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, social media, etc., to represent the College of Health Sciences and Pharmacy and the university.
Professional Development and Other Duties: Participate in professional development activities annually.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, marketing, communications, psychology, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in health professions student recruitment with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or a related field, within higher education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in admissions, recruitment or related areas
- Master's degree in education, marketing, communications, psychology, or a related field
- Fluency in written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English (bilingual)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent counseling, advising, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and event planning abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed recruitment decisions.
- Proficiency in data management, CRM, and other recruitment/admissions technology
- Willingness to travel, have reliable transportation and have a valid driver's license
- Must possess a passion for education
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of prospective students
- Outstanding communication and listening skills - both written and verbal; and skillful in public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and groups
- Ability to analyze complex information and exercise sound judgment in making decisions
