About the Role:

onsemi is seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Engineer to join our team in East Fishkill. As an Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing equipment used in the fabrication process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions or failures and implement timely and effective solutions to minimize production disruptions.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with process engineers to optimize equipment settings and parameters for improved yield, throughput, and product quality.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze equipment performance data, including downtime, yield, and maintenance records, to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with equipment vendors for repairs, upgrades, and spare parts procurement, ensuring timely resolution of issues and adherence to service agreements.
  • New Equipment Installation: Participate in the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment, including collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration into the manufacturing process.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of equipment specifications, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and calibration records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to technicians and operators on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques to build competency and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing semiconductor manufacturing operations, and proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards associated with equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Project Management: Lead or participate in equipment-related projects, such as upgrades, retrofits, or capacity expansions, from planning and execution to evaluation and post-implementation support.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, production operators, quality assurance, and facilities maintenance, to ensure seamless operation of semiconductor fabrication processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills

Salary: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $63,500 to $98,500 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
