As an experienced Retail Security Operations Manager, you will leverage your expertise in asset protection within a thriving retail environment. Boscov's, a well-established chain of department stores, is dedicated to fulfilling the diverse needs of our customers.

We are seeking skilled Retail Security Operations Managers to enhance our expanding team.


In this fast-paced and dynamic management role, you will lead a team of associates, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills to safeguard the company's assets.

Your prior management experience, combined with your strong asset protection capabilities, will be key to your success in this influential leadership position.



Job Responsibilities

As a vital member of the management team, the Retail Security Operations Manager will oversee and engage in monitoring all store areas to guarantee the safety and security of company assets.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Implementing company policies and coordinating procedures established by Corporate Security. Conducting audits and generating reports.
  • Observing and surveying both selling and non-selling areas for potential dishonest activities that could lead to losses.
  • Apprehending shoplifters and dishonest personnel.
  • Managing the hiring, training, and scheduling of security staff.
  • Building partnerships with Store Management and associates to enhance awareness of potential asset loss.
  • Overseeing and executing safety programs, awareness initiatives, meetings, and accident reporting and investigations.
  • Conducting fire prevention inspections and responding to alarm activations.
  • Understanding burglar alarm systems and responding appropriately.
  • Operating CCTV systems and comprehending theft deterrent mechanisms.
  • Collaborating with local authorities for court appearances and investigations.
  • Participating in management meetings and functions.
  • Executing store opening and closing procedures, including surveillance.
Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Retail Security Operations Manager role should possess the ability to lead a security team, actively engaging with Detectives and Dock Guards to consistently monitor store activities and protect company assets.

Additional requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in loss prevention management is preferred.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Aptitude for analyzing and resolving issues.
  • Capability to supervise, motivate, and train security staff.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Proficiency in learning company computer systems.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret company correspondence and reports.
  • Capacity to respond to emergency situations.
  • Prior experience in retail, security/loss prevention, fire, or safety procedures.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Availability to work varied days and hours as required, including evenings and weekends.
