Compliance Testing Auditor II

This position will provide assurance that SPS is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations required for mortgage servicing by performing law-based audits of the Company. Reviews will be completed monthly to provide a compliance overview of the Company.
Key Responsibilities- Designs and performs audit procedures with general supervision.
- Familiar with standard audit concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Independently writes narratives and conclusions based on the findings derived from the audit procedures.
- Organizes working papers to be used in writing the final audit or review report.
- Discusses findings with senior management.
- Tracks remediation of audit findings and reports repeat issues.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent.
- Industry certification preferred, CPA or CIA.
- 2-4 years of mortgage servicing experience within a sub-prime environment years in compliance audit or quality review of mortgage servicing operations.
- Understanding of compliance issues within the mortgage industry.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Excellent communications and interaction skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent computer skills, including use of all Office applications.
- Intermediate Excel and Access skills.
Compliance Scorecards: In order to ensure compliance with external laws, it is our responsibility to complete a compliance scorecard for senior management outlining any potential compliance violations. Success of our reviews is measured by increased compliance with defined regulations and improved effectiveness and efficiency within functional areas as a result of as a result of process change or improvement recommendations.
