Business Technology Specialist

Houston Community College (HCC) is seeking a qualified Business Technology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in advancing the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service.
Responsibilities- Teaching: Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in teaching discipline, develop and use innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods, and evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives.
- Academic Advising: Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community, provide access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods, and create and maintain a website dedicated to providing information on academic programs.
- Professional Development: Establish annual objectives for professional growth, keep pace with developments in the discipline, learn technologies that support student learning, and participate in the evaluation process for self, department, and college.
- Institutional and Community Service: Participate in scheduled institutional service activities, participate in discipline committee or program meetings and activities, act as an ambassador for HCC in the community, and participate in business and/or student activities that foster goodwill and promote the mission of HCC.
- Master's degree in Business, Business Education, or Occupational Education, or Master's degree in another field with 18 graduate hours in the listed fields.
- Three years working experience in business or industry required, certification in a learning management system preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or chosen foreign language); able to effectively read, write, and speak both languages required.
- Familiarity with and ability to teach all Microsoft Office Suite classes, knowledge of a wide range of instructional software including Office Suite, Learning Management Systems, multimedia software, and database management software.
- A competitive salary: $65,000 - 80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
