Job Summary

Sentara is seeking a skilled Customer Service Representative/Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our Clinical Access Centralized Scheduling Department, you will be responsible for handling incoming calls and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls to address eligibility, claim, and payment issues or to schedule patient appointments and referrals.
  • Provide quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education.
  • Responsible for all areas of customer service as it pertains to research and resolution of telephone inquiries.
  • Schedule a high volume of procedures for patients in a computerized scheduling system.
  • Accountable for accurately and completely obtaining required information in the scheduling process.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital or physician's office setting.
  • High volume call center experience and Epic EMR experience are preferred.
  • Data entry skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
