Position Summary
Global Enterprise Services, LLC is in search of a Systems Engineer who possesses extensive knowledge in operating systems and server infrastructure to become a vital member of our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The DES initiative is designed to support a critical mission that necessitates the involvement of elite technical and managerial professionals to transition standardized IT services for multiple DoD agencies onto a unified platform. In this role, you will be instrumental in conducting discovery, design, and migration activities essential for establishing a premier Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense. Your responsibilities will include leading storage engineering efforts to facilitate the analysis and design tasks required for the migration of shared IT services from numerous large-scale DoD agencies into a cohesive network.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: An active Secret security clearance is mandatory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct initial discovery processes, outlining data collection needs based on inputs necessary for formulating a successful migration strategy.
- Employ advanced data analysis methodologies and benchmarks to articulate the future state migration strategy and the preliminary activities required to bridge existing gaps.
- Anticipate backend infrastructure requirements stemming from the consolidation of multiple agencies into a singular architecture.
- Design, integrate, configure, test, and deploy various storage and data protection technologies from industry leaders.
- Enhance overall system performance and streamline migration workflows.
- Perform data captures to gather computing performance metrics and system configuration details.
- Develop migration strategies that expedite execution while minimizing disruption to the user community.
- Establish migration plans for intricate n-tier applications and services.
- Collect necessary data to project long-term capacity and performance needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree accompanied by 12+ years of relevant experience; additional years of applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Expertise in enterprise-level storage and data protection technologies, including storage and backup arrays, SAN switches, backup software, and storage replication solutions.
- DoD IAT Level II (Security+) certification or an equivalent credential is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience within a consulting firm.
- Comprehensive understanding of networking, servers, cybersecurity, and data center operations.
- Experience with Cloud Migration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune for Endpoint Management & Software Distribution.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration and Microsoft Power BI.
- Proficiency in Active Directory Administration.
- Enterprise-level migration experience.
- Experience in operating system deployments.
- Ability to develop engineering and implementation strategies.
