Job Description

This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of patient care in a designated area. As a Registered Nurse, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills and critical thinking through self-direction and effective communication.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive operational responsibility for patient care delivery and quality.
  • Foster interdepartmental/interprofessional collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement performance initiatives to ensure patient safety and customer satisfaction.
Essential FunctionsLeadership and Team Management
  • Manage daily work activities of department staff, ensuring quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to review policies and procedures.
  • Counsel employees on work-related performance and develop action plans for improvement.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Plan and organize department operations, setting priorities and functional standards.
  • Drive service standards and activities to impact patient/customer-based satisfaction.
  • Resolve concerns and complaints effectively, maintaining a positive patient experience.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ensure a safe working environment by monitoring and revising department safety plans.
  • Maintain staff compliance with required credentials and accreditation/regulatory guidelines.
  • Optimize information systems to enhance operations and support performance improvement functions.
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in developing department budgets and ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Manage department expenses within approved budget parameters.
  • Implement strategies to achieve financial targets and staffing needs.
GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve department operations.
  • Participate in shared governance activities and lead unit projects to drive change.
  • Evaluate processes and recommend action plans for sustainable change.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Three years' experience in nursing, one year in a progressive leadership role in healthcare.
  • RN licensure in Texas State or Compact State, or RN-Temp licensure within 60 days.
  • BLS certification (AHA) and Magnet ANCC Recognized Certification within one year.
Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
