Material Handler II

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler II to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing process by delivering materials in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities- Maintain inventory accuracy and control in the warehouse, ensuring that all materials are properly stored and organized.
- Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, stage jobs and deliver materials to the production schedule, responding to material requisitions as needed.
- Have complete familiarity with all job functions in Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse operations.
- Be trained and certified in the use of all material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and stand-ups.
- Access the ERP system to perform inventory transactions and inquiries, and utilize the system to determine material on hand by location.
- Research inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history of material movement.
- Understand the Quarantine location and its purpose, and use it as needed.
- Perform job tasks in a manner that reflects behavior consistent with the JCI LEM program.
- Be a steward of all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 6 months or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills.
- Hold a Forklift Certification.
The physical demands of this role include working in a noisy, dusty, industrial/manufacturing environment with some exposure to non-toxic irritants. You will be required to work with machinery and moving parts, operate a crane, truck, or motor vehicle, and work at heights. You must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, manipulate, and transport up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. You will also be required to work in a non-climate controlled environment and perform repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with some physical exertion, including long periods of standing or walking on hard concrete surfaces. You must be able to read, write, speak, and communicate in the English language, and have the physical strength and ability to frequently work more than 40 hours weekly.
