Job Overview:

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a full-time Traveling Solar Technician to join our team. This position requires frequent overnight travel across the US. The successful candidate will have the ability to work safely and efficiently with electrical and mechanical components, resolving issues and concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a full range of diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and oversight of issues at solar farms across the US.
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of solar service issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer experience, maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Travel using own vehicle or company-owned vehicle, as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to broader company initiatives.
  • Submit daily reports.
  • Effectively use hand and power tools.
  • Operate machinery and equipment, such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and generators.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Clean, maintain, and inventory company-owned tools and equipment.
  • Work professionally in remote areas, on active construction sites, or in the office.
  • Drive self-improvement and motivate excellence in coworkers.
  • Adhere to strict safety and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the renewable energy industry or relevant experience from another industry.
  • Excellent safety record.
  • Knowledge of major solar and energy storage products.
  • Training on top-tier inverters a plus.
  • Highly organized and punctual.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and pass background check and physical.
  • Ability to work through issues and troubleshoot safely.
  • Frequent travel required.
  • Ability to work as a member of a small team and independently in the field.
  • Ability to work in various positions, including standing, stooping, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
  • Lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout the workday.
  • Sustain prolonged exposure to extreme weather and environmental conditions.
