Role Overview:

As a Quantitative Strategy Intern within the Quant Trading & Research team at Akuna, you will be part of a multidisciplinary group of traders, quantitative developers, and researchers aligned with specific trading desks. We are seeking interns for our 10-week Akunacademy internship program who will contribute directly to our trading strategies and performance.

We are looking for innovative thinkers with robust programming skills who can transform concepts into trading solutions, enhance our innovation cycle through rapid prototyping of efficient production code, and cultivate a deep understanding of financial markets. Interns will be expected to develop the ability to communicate effectively with traders, quants, and engineers across various domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement strategies to automate trading processes
  • Assess the anticipated and actual impact of innovations on trading outcomes
  • Develop and maintain automated trading strategies
  • Gain exposure to multiple trading desks

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Proficient programming skills in Python
  • Willingness and capability to learn the complexities of financial markets
  • Expected graduation by August 2026
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required from the first day of employment
